“A Life Well Lived”
A lovely man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends, sleep peacefully Frank.
July 17, 2022My sympathy to you, Lena, your family and Frank’s sisters, Mary and Margaret, my bridesmaid. I have very fond memories of Frank as he grew up in Tatura, where his Bartlett family and my Stevenson family were very close. May he Rest In Peace. Frances Connell.
July 20, 2022Frank was an extremely kind and compassionate man. Always placing family first, Frank went out of his way to support those less fortunate than himself. His support of refugees was enormous and he travelled to Shepparton regularly to teach English to those seeking to learn the language of their adopted country.

Frank was Manager(CEO) of Benalla & District Memorial Hospital from 1981 to 1986 until his retirement.
By coincidence, I stumbled upon a letter that Morrie Evans sent me on 12/4/1985 this week. Morrie and his wife were living in Queensland and had been back to Benalla and visited the Hospital. Frank had given them a guided tour of the Hospital.
I quote from Morrie’s letter. “ We are very grateful to Frank for the time he spent with us at the hospital; believe me, I was very proud of what you all have done – it is unbelievable the development. Benalla’s hospital has always been the success story in its class but by seizing the opportunities as they came along, it is just wonderful and I am unable to express my great joy.”Mr. Frank had a wonderful personality and positive outlook of the world he lived in. He was loved by all, a great family man. He understood the difference and difficulties migrant faced during their early settlement in Australia and to this day. He helped everyone around him and uplifted their spirits. May his soul rest in peace.
July 22, 2022Our lovely nextdoor neighbour. Frank, we will miss our little chats and laughs (and our standing joke about “certain visitors” when we were away!) It was always good to know you were right there.
You we’re so good to many newcomers to the town and the many families you’ve helped settle in will miss you too, I’m sure.
Our sincere condolences to Lena and family.
See you “over the fence” again one day, dear Frank.
Rest In Peace. Love Cath, Rod and (the noisy) Moses xxx
July 22, 2022A pleasure to have known you Frank, always a cheerful word. Sincere sympathy to Lena, John and Katherine at this sad time. Our family sends love and fond thoughts to you all.

Your words and advice were never biased and your advice and sense of humour is surely missed as well as your story’s and wife lena’s sponge cake, for that I would nearly do anything for another slice, it really was the best. but if there was one person I wish I could talk to right now for guidance it would be you my friend. you were a trustworthy man respected by many. May you rest in peace frank
