Tributes
  1. John was intelligent, wise, hard working and very funny. I met him nearly forty years ago. He was a valuable mentor during my working life, coaching and supporting me and we remained friends after my retirement. I am so thankful that life allowed our paths to cross. John went out of his way to help me, a Chilean exile. I learnt so much from him and for that I am deeply grateful.

  3. I met John in his final undergraduate year at Southampton University. At 21 he was articulate, funny, loving, social, immensely kind and looking forward to his future with laughter and all the confidence of youth. He clearly fulfilled his potential and was respected and dearly loved. It was a joy and a privilege to have known him. Some people leave a lasting imprint – John was one of those.

  4. I first met John at least 40 years ago and am saddened not have got to catch up with him face to face in the last few years. John was always supremely interesting, interested in everything, amusing and fun to be around. There was never a dull moment in John’s infectious company. He leaves us with many happy memories and respect.

  5. John we will miss you. Always smiling, finding the humour in a situation, yet forthright and knowledgeable in in depth conversations. We only knew you for a few short years but the impression you left on our souls will last forever. A good man a warm and caring soul, it was delightful to be in his company. Rest easy John.
