To my soul mate Beej, I feel so lucky to have spent 11 beautiful years with you. You gave me independence, confidence and so much love
Forever your loving wife Niamh
Beej Chatham
The kid practicing his putt in any quiet moment, giggling about the muddle headed wombat before bed, eating a massive bowl of Nutrigrain in front of Animals of Farthing Wood after school, racing me for ownership rights on the trampoline, building bracken cubbies and pine needle boarding, covering for me when my discus practice gave you a shiner, chanting “we’re nearly not there” in the back seat of the car, sailing rafts down the creek, having paddy melon wars and jumping out of the tree at the waterhole.
And the man with a heart the size of Pharlap’s.
Mischievous, hilarious, genuine, fiercely loyal and someone I knew would always have my back. I don’t know how the world turns without you Beej, but will forever hear you chuckling at the dumbest of my jokes and the ridiculousness of this world.
Love you my little mate. Kez
Beej.
Words can’t describe the pain we feel now that you are no longer with us. You had the ability to light up a room just by walking into it. Life was always that little bit better when you were a part of it. As a son, a brother, a brother-in-law, an uncle, a husband and as a mate you have no idea the positive impact you had on the people around you and the high esteem in which you were held.
Little bro, I’m broken. We are all broken. The hole you left feels too big to fix. From our sporting days together, terrorizing our sisters, standing beside me on my wedding day to watching proudly as you pursued your dreams abroad you were never far from my thoughts.
We will never forget leaving you in Sydney airport, with tears from all of us knowing that the next time we would be together it would be in terrible circumstances. But not this. You were meant to be standing beside us.
We are forever grateful that the last words we said to you was “I love you mate”.
Rest In Peace Little brother. Every sunset will be a reminder of the light you brought to our lives.
Love Chris, Emily, Connor and Xanthia
