Tharratt – Alfred Edward

Born on May 30, 1930. Passed away September 17, 2021.

Went to be with Jesus from Cooinda surrounded by his family.
Much loved and loving only son of Harold and Kath (both dec), husband of Marj for 64 years, father of John (and Meagan), David (and Lois), and Roger, grandfather of Mandy (and Trav), Rachel (and Andrew), Michael (and Laurel) and Shannon, Evie, Lucy and Hugh, great-grandfather of Sophia and Eleanor.
Our grateful thanks to the wonderful staff at Cooinda Benalla for their loving care of Alf, and of us, his family, during these last months and especially in these last few days. We have been blessed.
Selamat jalan, Balang.

  8. Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Pdt Balang @ Alf Tharrat. We may be as far as Lawas. Sarawak, but you are still fondly remembered being a very closed friend to my late parents Upai Baruand Kasing Baru.

    We will treasure all the memories of the trips you’ve made when we were still in Brunei and to Lawas.

    You’re now at a better place and we have missed your trips the last few years.

  10. Dear John, Dave and families it was lovely to hear the tributes to your dad. It brings back memories for us as we remember Alf and the love and respect I David particularly had for him. He was such an encourager to me and I loved praying with him on Sunday mornings. His passion for missions and evangelism and intercession sticks in my mind. I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there.

  11. Margaret and I have such lovely memories of Alf having lunch in Wangaratta with us after Church on Sunday, these were happy times which we treasured . Alf was a kindly and lovely man and will be greatly missed. God bless old friend and rest well with your Lord.

  12. To Dear Marj, David & Lois, John & Meghan, & Roger & families, Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of a wonderful and inspiring man. I was pleased to learn more of him through such a wonderful tribute and farewell. What a wonderful reward he must be receiving in heaven with his Father God. My love, sympathy and prayers for all of you. Alf was another ‘one in a million’ (or greater!).

  13. I had the pleasure of meeting Alf Tharratt in 2013 when we interviewed him about his life and work in Ba Kelalan. His great testimony to the work of the Lord there is really heartfelt & inspiring. Enjoy your eternal rest Alf.
