Loving Son of John and Violet Mead (both dec).

Much loved Brother of Jack Mead, Gwen Sessions, Violet Croxford (all dec), and Hans Jensen and all their respective families.

The Memorial Service to celebrate the Life of Mr Charles James "Charlie" Mead will be held at the N J Todd Funeral Home - 'Feehan Chapel' on Monday 29th June 2026 commencing at 11.00 am.

A private family Burial will have preceded the Memorial Service.

  3. Met Charlie prior to the vigil at Violet Town to celebrate the Aurora event. He was well able to easily reate to people and over those five-odd years became a visible face of the memorial gardens.

  4. I only met Charlie twice, and on both occasions he treated me like a life long friend with a genuine interest in my life story. Rest in peace Charlie and thank you for all you did in building such a special place for families of the Southern Aurora Disaster to visit, remember and reflect.

  7. A close friend and work mate on the railways with my dad, Stan McCauley. Always popped into say gidday when my dad was unwell with emphasemia, at home. Loved my mums big scones. One of the nicest gentleman you could meet. Rest easy Charlie and keep watching over us all.

  14. What a wonderful man Charlie was.. whenever I was catching the xpt years ago he was always at the station with a kind word and blanket for those who didn’t have one. He was funny, kind, interesting and full of stories. He will be sadly missed by many people.
