Ridgeway – Lynette Isobelle

Lynn was always the lady of the family, in the true sense of what this means: she was always kind and gave us all the benefit of the doubt even when our behaviour was questionable. Her generosity was a striking feature, whether in kind or spirit, she lavished her much loved nieces, nephews (and mostly everyone) with experiences they will remember always. Lynn was elegant and poised and loved nothing better than grand occasions and the opportunity to dress in style and wear a hat. Afternoon tea with Lynn was special to say the least, lots of silver and crystal and starched napkins always – best manners were of course required even if you were very young. Lynn led an adventurous life in that wistful “Travels of my Aunt” style, she was determined and independent and worked diligently for what she wanted in life. Her life was not without its travails and challenges, though I never recall her blaming or railing against anyone in confronting these. A rare person was our Lynn, I imagine she will be remembered well and her stories oft told by those who love her. Farewell my friend, sister in law, you leave a legacy of kindness and generosity for all who knew you.
