The Funeral of Mr Douglas John “Doug” Williams will be held at the N J Todd Funeral Home, 81 Baddaginnie-Benalla Road, Benalla on Thursday 27th August, 2026 commencing at 1.00 pm.
Ex Service Personnel are respectfully invited to attend.

  2. I first met Doug in the workshop hanger of the Gliding Club of Victoria. He was our Chief Engineer and a fully qualified Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME). Doug worked closely with Graeme Greed, who later took on the role of both LAME and Glider Engineer. Doug was also instrumental in the creation of the Benalla Aircraft Museum and also the creation of the Benalla Aero Club, where he taught me, and my wife Rita, to fly the Tecnam Aircraft. More recently, we have seen Doug at Cooinda where he was a resident. Always up for a chat and a handshake, Doug was a true gentleman and can look back on a life well lived. Thanks for all the experience and knowledge that you passed us Doug. You will be missed and always remembered.

  3. So sorry to hear of the passing of Doug. I was fortunate to have worked with Doug during the research for his book on the 11th Elementary Flying School at Benalla.
    He was truly an extraordinary person who contributed to the community in many ways.
    Thank you Doug, and may you rest in peace.

  4. I remember Doug from U3A singing he was a true gentleman and very interesting to talk to having many a tale to tell.

    I will miss him sitting in the front row singing loudly.

    So sorry to hear of Doug's passing.
    He was a great gentleman and an excellent instructor for our group of ancient flyers.
    We will not see his like again.
    As we are currently away in South Australia, we cannot attend on Thursday, but our thoughts will be with you.
